"The way I see it, photography is as much about feeling as it is about seeing."

- hilary

and truly connected to your memories.

As your Destination Wedding Photographer I take an intuitive approach when capturing this moment in time -
ensuring you feel in touch with your story, joyful on your day,

Intention

With your best interests in mind, I intentionally photograph important elements of your experience and utilize light, color, and composition, resulting in a collection of artisan photographs that capture the timelessness of your story.

Authenticity

I’ll bring positivity, a calming presence and gentle guidance to our time together. So that when you look back on your photos, you'll love what you see because you'll love how you felt: authentically you.

Flow

Having photographed hundreds of events and milestone celebrations, I know how to capture your moments without capturing attention. And, because I’ve also worked with countless personalities, I know how to go with the flow and connect with your family and friends.

A Holistic Approach to Photography

The practice of yoga requires mindfulness and intention. I bring that same focus to your experience, ensuring your comfort as I capture the essence of your once-in-a-lifetime moments.

“She goes out of her way to provide more than just a one-time service but rather to become a trusted friend and advisor in the often-intimidating wedding planning process. I’d recommend her 1,000%.”

Fine Art Photographs of Fleeting Moments & Splendid Light

About Hilary

My initial discovery and passion for destination wedding photography began when my own family began documenting their lives and travels and sharing their photographic memories for future generations. Their memories were carefully bound in heirloom albums and photo boxes, and I fondly remember looking at everything from black and white staged portraits of generations past, to the faded color snapshots and candids, which are now treasures of my childhood.

My journey into photography has been a tapestry of experiences spanning two decades.

My grandfather, also a photojournalist, inspired me to pursue my passion in the study of art and photography. He encouraged me to attend Savannah College of Art and Design, where I graduated with honors in photography and art history.

Early in my career, while photographing for non-profits and the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, my approach evolved and my lens shifted towards the human stories behind the art. From documenting exhibitions and galas, I found myself drawn to the intimate narratives woven into weddings. It was during a destination wedding in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, that I had an epiphany. There, amidst the backdrop of natural beauty and heartfelt celebrations, I discovered my true calling: serving others in a meaningful way through the creative process.

This calling and this feeling, became my passion, my mission and my art.

I seek what inspires me. I see to know.
And I consider myself many things:

Traveler

I'm based in Newport, Rhode Island but have a glowing spirit for travel. I’m already anticipating my next destination wedding to see another corner of the world. My ancestors have influenced me to explore the world, as they once did, teaching me an acceptance and sensitivity of our cultural differences.

Some of the incredible places I’ve been honored to experience as a Destination Wedding Photographer; Amsterdam, Netherlands, Stockholm and Varmland, Sweden, Nice, Provence, and Paris, France, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, Oahu, Hawaii, and most recently Milan, Lake Como, and Florence Italy.

Where to next? Bali, Morocco, Portugal, and Spain

Artist

From documenting artifacts of antiquity and prized art at the Museum of Fine Art Boston to capturing weddings, lifestyle brands, and editorials, my journey has been rich with diverse experiences. Empowered by a BFA in Photography from SCAD, where my inspiration flourished, I've since honed my craft to further narrate stories that transcend time.

Genuine

I believe thoughtful touches like a personal handwritten note go a long way and genuinely connect us.

Activist

Volunteering and giving towards a more sustainable planet and equitable community is a motivation that's close to my heart. For every new client booking and order, I contribute 1% to One Tree Planted.

Wife & Mother

My husband Beren and our daughter Helena have given me unwavering support and inspiration to see the wonder of the world through the eyes of a child.

"Hilary quickly became a wonderful friend to our whole family."
